Project overview

This concept imagines an online store for an independent maker brand. It explores how craft and provenance can be communicated without slowing down the path to purchase. It is a design concept, not a client project.

The design challenge

Handcrafted products need context — materials, process, care — but too much information can overwhelm shoppers.

Most traffic for small brands comes from social media on phones, where product pages and checkout must feel fast and simple.

Proposed solution

  • Category pages with filters based on how people actually shop for homeware: room, material and price.
  • Product pages that lead with large imagery and essential details, with craft stories and care instructions in expandable sections.
  • Delivery and returns information placed next to the add-to-bag button to reduce hesitation.
  • A mobile layout with a sticky purchase bar and thumb-friendly controls.

Outcomes

This is a design concept, so there are no client outcomes to report. It was created to explore the problem and demonstrate our approach.
